Welcome to autumn everyone!
The Summer is over (though it is 98 degrees in SoCal today), time to get to work and that hideous bathroom, worn out carpet and peeling paint has only gotten worse…it hasn’t miraculously re-designed or replaced itself…even though you tried, with all your might to wish it away. But wait, there's more!
It’s fall and that means road trip season to me. In California, we have incredible road trip destinations a few hours drive up the coast and thousands of opportunities to be wowed and mesmerized. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend and my friend Gail was in from Boston so we decided that the central coast and Hearst Castle was the place to go…and what a perfect decision!!
As one of the great estates from the heyday of industrialists in the United States in the past century, the Hearst Castle is one of the Jewels. However, as one article that I’ve read pointed out, William Randolph Hearst had a more pedestrian eye when it came to his art and extensive architectural antiquities collections… But wait, there's more!
Quite often, I get design questions from Mark on Call app users and website visitors. I love addressing design problems and hashing out a solution that won’t cost an arm and a leg or can be done as a do-it-yourself project. Since no two design problems are alike, no two solutions are alike either. Just remember one of my mantras of design…if you are stuck with a design flaw and cannot afford or don’t feel like ripping down the whole house and starting over, make it look like you meant to do it… But wait, there's more!
So sorry that I haven’t posted in so long…all of us at M.O.C. have been really busy getting the Mark on Call HD app ready for the iPad…. finally! In addition to optimizing the graphics for the iPad, we have also added and updated a ton of features! With the larger field of vision, improved graphics and added enhancements, it’s really easy and precise to design a single room plan or an entire house plan.
We are really excited about the new version and we hope that you are as well. It should be on the iTunes site really soon now!

Remember that ad campaign from the 80’s? Well, it’s still on with me…I was with my Mark on Call partner John Haigh in New York in May to give a keynote demo of the Mark on Call app at the D & D building in the Pierre Deux showroom.
It was a gorgeously rainy day and I became really homesick for the hustle and bustle that is decidedly New York….what an electrifying city. But wait, there's more!
